GET INTO THE RUN
Quick start
- Open the creator's browser game and choose a class. Paladin or Warrior is a forgiving way to learn; Hunter suits players who prefer to keep enemies at range.
- Choose Elwynn Forest, the first zone, then start the run.
- Move with WASD or arrow keys. Your class spells attack automatically, so use movement to control distance.
- Walk across experience wisps to collect them. On level-up, compare the three cards and choose one with the number keys or a click.
- Watch the timer. Elwynn's final boss arrives at 16:00; clear space before it appears.
First goal: learn to move continuously and reach the first level-up without letting the horde surround you. The fastest damage build can wait.
STAY MOBILE
Move in a wide loop
Walking in a broad circle tends to pull pursuing enemies into a line behind you. That gives automatic attacks and area effects a chance to hit groups while you stay ahead of them. Tight turns and dead ends can close your escape route.
- Look at open ground before you commit to a turn.
- Keep moving while your spells work; do not stop beside a boss to finish it.
- Pick up nearby experience when the route is safe. If you have to cut through a dense pack, circle back after it thins.
- Use a movement skill as an exit or repositioning tool when your build provides one. Check the current control list in the game's Options because key bindings can change.
At a level-up, take a moment to choose, then resume moving. If the game pauses during the choice, use that pause to read the card's actual stat change.
MAKE EACH PICK COUNT
Choose a direction, then support it
A useful build usually improves one damage plan instead of taking every attractive spell. Look for cards that strengthen an ability you already rely on, increase its reach or targets, or make its damage happen more often.
| If this is happening… | Look for… | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Enemies are piling up faster than you clear them | Area damage, extra targets, or spell uptime | More of the horde is handled per cast. |
| You die before the next boss | Health, armor, healing, shields, or a slow | One defensive pick can buy enough time to keep the run going. |
| You miss too many experience drops | Pickup range or an experience magnet when available | More collected experience means more level-up choices. |
| Your class has a strong signature ability | Its rank, damage, cooldown, or matching passive | Synergy is usually stronger than spreading picks across unrelated spells. |
Use rerolls when the offered cards do not support your run. Early in a run, a reasonable upgrade is often more useful than spending every reroll in search of a perfect one.
PREPARE BEFORE THE TIMER
Give the boss room to arrive
In Elwynn Forest the known boss schedule is Hogger at 3:00, Mother Fang at 6:00, Rhahk'Zor at 9:00, Mr. Smite at 12:00, and Edwin VanCleef at 16:00. Use the seconds before a spawn to move toward open space and gather nearby experience.
- Keep an escape route open instead of letting the horde box you against scenery.
- Continue moving while attacks fire. The boss is not a reason to stand still.
- If the run repeatedly ends at the same boss, note what caused it: too many hits, too little damage, or being trapped. Choose the next card to address that specific problem.
Boss timing and behavior can change between game versions. Check the in-game zone panel if the clock differs.
PROGRESS BETWEEN RUNS
A failed run still teaches you something
Runs may award class progression even when you do not clear the zone. Repeat an easier zone when a new area feels like a wall, try a different upgrade focus, and compare how long you survive. One consistent improvement is easier to learn from than changing every choice at once.
Your browser save belongs to the game page where you played. To move progress between browsers or devices, use the game's own Export Save and Import Save options. Importing may replace the save on the destination, so export that save first if you want to keep it.
Next: learn how to plan a build and unlock each zone.
