TROUBLESHOOTING · QUICK FIXES

Get back into the game

Start with the error message you see. These steps separate browser support, graphics, performance, server load, and save problems.

BROWSER SUPPORT

“This browser has no WebGPU”

  1. Update to a current Chrome or Edge. A supported recent Safari may also work depending on your device and OS.
  2. Restart the browser after updating and reopen the creator's game page.
  3. On Linux Chrome, WebGPU may require enabling chrome://flags/#enable-unsafe-webgpu, then relaunching.
  4. If you are using Firefox or an older device, try a supported browser or the official Windows build linked from the creator's page.

The game relies on WebGPU for its browser renderer. This error usually means a browser or operating-system capability is missing, not that the save is broken.

GRAPHICS ADAPTER

WebGPU is present, but no usable GPU

  • Turn on hardware acceleration in Chrome or Edge settings, then fully restart the browser.
  • On Windows laptops with two graphics processors, open Settings → System → Display → Graphics, set the browser to High performance, then restart it.
  • Update the graphics driver. In Chrome, chrome://gpu can show why acceleration or WebGPU is disabled.
  • Try outside a remote desktop session if possible; remote sessions may not expose a supported graphics adapter.

If the browser says WebGPU exists but it still cannot start, the issue is often the selected GPU or driver rather than the browser version.

FIRST LOAD

Black screen or a long loading screen

On a first visit, the browser has to fetch game data and compile graphics shaders. Keep the tab open and wait for the game's own loading screen before deciding the page is stuck.

  1. Reload once after checking your connection and browser support.
  2. Close the page and reopen the official game URL if the loading screen never advances.
  3. Check that browser storage is available; private browsing or strict storage settings can interfere with cached data.
  4. If it remains black, check the browser's GPU status and try the graphics steps above.

A black screen can also come from a graphics driver crash, especially on a device that barely meets the graphics requirements.

PERFORMANCE

Low FPS, stutter, or overheating

  • Lower the game's Render Scale in Options; this is often the most direct graphics workload reduction.
  • Plug in a laptop and confirm the browser is using its high-performance GPU.
  • Close heavy tabs and background applications before late waves, when many enemies can be visible together.
  • On mobile, a brief stutter while shaders compile may settle. If the tab crashes, reopen the game and reduce graphics settings if available.

Slow first-time loading and low frame rate are different problems: loading is about data and connection; FPS is about graphics workload and hardware.

SERVER LOAD

“Too many people are playing”

This message means the game host is busy or enforcing a request limit. Wait a little and try again. If the browser host remains unavailable, the creator's official page may link a Windows build. Avoid downloads from third-party mirrors.

PROGRESS RECOVERY

My save disappeared or did not transfer

The game stores browser progress with the browser site data. These steps can make it look like a save vanished:

  • You opened a private window, another browser, or a different device.
  • You cleared site data or cookies for the game host.
  • You played from a different website. Browsers keep saves for different website addresses separate, even when both pages open the same game.

Go back to the exact game page where you played. Before clearing browser data or changing devices, use the game's Options → Saves → Export Save. At the destination, use Import Save. Importing replaces the destination save, so export that save first if you need to preserve it.

This guide does not host the game. Play through the creator's website so the game's own save and update behavior stays under the developer's control.

DOWNLOAD SAFETY

Where should I download it?

Use the browser game at the creator's site, or follow the Windows download linked from that same page. Avoid copies that ask for a Battle.net password, payment, an unrelated launcher, or a download hosted by an unknown file-sharing site.

A free fan build may not have a recognized publisher signature. That alone does not prove a file is unsafe; only download from the developer's own page and scan unfamiliar files before running them.

HANDING OVER TO THE CREATOR

Ready for your run?

The game opens on Aethus's website in a new tab. The first load may take time while the world data downloads.
